"Hock, Friday morning at 0400 my home security alarm started sounding. My wife immediately rounded up our kids while I went for my pistol, once the kids and the Misses were secured in our bedroom I checked the alarm to see where the break in had occurred. Our basement motion sensor had been tripped. I (foolishly or not) began to search my home in a systematic manor that I have rehearsed several times. My interior basement door has a separate lock on it that had not been broken. After I was satisfied that no one was on the first or second floor, I sat outside the basement door and waited for the cops. Long story short, they came searched the grounds and the basement and could not find anyone, although there was damage to the exterior basement door. The point is this. I was able to keep a clear head and complete what I believe to be an effective search of my home, even though I was terrified about finding someone. I attribute any and all cool headedness to you and your training. First, the scenarios we practice at your seminars are priceless. Your “targets must shoot back” policy is second to none. Although the adrenaline I was feeling searching my home was far greater than practicing with air soft pistols, I truly believe it prepared me to keep my wits about me.
